Job summary

Heidelberg Materials North America in Harleyville, SC, is seeking a safety-focused hazardous waste technician. You will safely collect, transport, store, and process hazardous materials in compliance with company procedures and regulatory requirements, inspecting containers, maintaining records, and supporting EH&S initiatives.

This role requires physical work in an industrial setting, PPE compliance, and the ability to collaborate across teams.

What You'll Be Doing

• Safely collect, transport, store, and process hazardous waste materials in accordance with company procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Inspect, label, and prepare hazardous waste containers for storage, shipment, and disposal.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation related to hazardous waste handling and compliance activities.
• Conduct routine inspections of storage areas and equipment to identify and address potential safety concerns.
• Support environmental, health, and safety initiatives by promoting safe work practices and responding to operational needs.

Work Environment

• Work is performed in an industrial environment with exposure to outdoor weather conditions, dust, noise, and moving equipment.
• Requires standing, walking, lifting, carrying, bending, and other physical activities throughout the workday.
• Personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn and safety procedures must be followed at all times.
• May require occasional overtime, weekend work, or schedule flexibility based on operational needs.
