Job summary

Builders FirstSource in Harrisburg, NC is seeking a dedicated Material Handler to keep the flow of materials moving on the yard. Under limited supervision, you will move, store and track items, lift up to 80 pounds occasionally, and help meet production and shipping goals.

You will operate motorized and non-motorized equipment, train teammates on tasks, and uphold safety guidelines in a production environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 4 years of related experience or equivalent.
• Able to lift up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 80 pounds occasionally.
• Work is in a production environment with exposure to temperature variations, dust, and noise.
• Record movement of materials and verify task accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Physically handles materials to optimize movement and stack as needed.
• Records movement of incoming and outgoing materials and verifies accuracy of work performed by self and others.
• Operates motorized and non-motorized material handling equipment.
• Plans and assigns work tasks to Material Handlers to meet production goals.
• Trains employees in required tasks, including handling techniques and safety guidelines.
