EWI is recruiting experienced Material Handling Assistants to support a major manufacturing operation based in Iowa.
We are looking for warehouse and logistics professionals with experience in SAP, inventory control, material coordination and warehouse administration who are interested in joining a growing US manufacturing operation.
The position will support the day-to-day warehouse operation, ensuring material transactions, inventory records, documentation and production requirements are processed accurately and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Support daily warehouse and material handling operations.
- Process material transactions including goods receipts, stock movements, material consumption and inventory adjustments.
- Manage and update material and inventory information within SAP.
- Support the closure and administration of production orders.
- Maintain warehouse documentation including delivery notes, goods receipt records and transport documentation.
- Investigate damaged materials, quantity discrepancies, delivery delays, labelling issues and documentation errors.
- Complete inventory cycle counts and support annual inventory activities.
- Investigate differences between physical inventory and system stock.
- Support batch and serial number tracking and inventory processes.
- Assist with spare parts and material replenishment activities.
- Coordinate picking priorities and prepare documentation for warehouse teams.
- Support incoming deliveries and unloading activities when required.
- Prepare shipments and associated shipping documentation.
- Coordinate courier collections including UPS and FedEx where required.
- Work closely with Warehouse, Production, Quality and Logistics teams.
- Maintain accurate records and support the efficient flow of materials throughout the facility.
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum 2 years warehouse experience.
- Previous experience within manufacturing, logistics, warehousing, automotive or industrial environments would be advantageous.
- Experience using SAP or another ERP system for inventory or material transactions.
- Experience with inventory management, stock control and warehouse documentation.
- Good Microsoft Office skills including Word and Excel.
- Ability to read and understand delivery notes, inventory reports and shipping documentation.
- Strong administrative and organisational skills.
- Good attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
- Previous forklift experience preferred.
- Previous overhead crane experience preferred.
- Experience preparing shipments and coordinating courier collections would be advantageous.
- Strong commitment to health, safety and quality.
- Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced manufacturing and warehouse environment.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Comfortable with bending, reaching, climbing and repetitive movements.
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable working in hot, cold or variable warehouse environments.
- High school diploma or GED required.
