Webstaurantstore is hiring Material Handlers to efficiently receive products and process shipping orders using internal warehouse systems and equipment, including forklifts. The role requires attention to detail, fast pace, and willingness to adapt to changing processes.

Training and mentoring are provided on-site. Positions include Order Picker, Order Prepper, Container Unloader, and Truck Loader, with a starting wage of $24.00/hr and semi-annual raises.

Qualifications

1 year of relevant distribution experience preferred but not required.
Ability to operate warehouse equipment including forklifts, order pickers, etc.
Comfort with standing for long periods and lifting up to 75 lbs.
Strong verbal and written communication skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

Drive an order picker to assigned bins, identifying proper items and quantities for all orders.
Walk to assigned bins, identifying proper items and quantities for all orders.
Ensure that all orders are picked properly in a timely manner with strong attention to detail.
Use a scanner to verify and identify products and then load products onto a conveyor belt.
Identify correct pallet size and downsize packaging to minimize shipping costs without sacrificing product quality.
Prepare pallets for shipment by stacking, wrapping, and protecting in transit.
Operate wrap machines and adjust settings based on pallet size and weight.
Label orders with appropriate stickers.
Unload containers in a timely fashion, confirm item numbers and quantity with high level of detail.
Receive and stock inventory to fulfill orders as they are processed to ensure speed and accuracy.
Accurately identify carrier based on label on package and move palletized product to proper trucks.

Job Summary

Material Handlers are responsible for efficiently and accurately receiving product and shipping orders, ensuring they are processed, put away, picked, and shipped in a timely and secure manner. This position requires use of our internal warehouse systems and various warehouse equipment, which may include Powered Industrial Trucks. You will be expected to work at a fast pace, be attentive to detail, willing to work hard with a good attitude, and be able to embrace change. You will be using a number of different body mechanics including, but not limited to, bending, lifting, pushing and pulling. Cross-training opportunities may be required. We offer on-site training and mentoring for all positions.

Job Summary

ESSENTIAL JOBS AND JOB FUNCTIONS

Order Picker

Drive an order picker to assigned bins, identifying proper items and quantities for all orders
Walk to assigned bins, identifying proper items and quantities for all orders
Ensure that all orders are picked properly in a timely manner with strong attention to detail
Use a scanner to verify and identify products and then load products onto a conveyor belt

Order Prepper

Identify correct pallet size and downsize packaging to minimize shipping costs without sacrificing product quality and ensure that the product will be delivered without damage
Prepare pallets for shipment by making sure the order is properly stacked, wrapped, and protected in transit.
Operate wrap machines and adjust settings based on pallet size and weight, using different wrapping techniques to make sure order is secured
Label orders with appropriate stickers

Container Unloader

Unload containers in a timely fashion, within required limitations set by drivers and the company
Confirm item numbers and quantity of orders with high level to detail
Receive and stock inventory to fulfill orders as they are processed to ensure a high level of speed and accuracy

Truck Loader

Accurately identify carrier based off label on package
Move palletized product from non-con and fast track taping areas to load onto proper designated trucks if needed
Efficiently stack packages into correct trailer based on carrier in an interlocking pattern
Lock out incoming trailers and unlock outgoing trailers

ALL POSITIONS

Operate warehouse equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, scanners, and computers, following all established protocols and promoting safe working standards
Meet all expected performance standards regarding efficiency, accuracy and quality of work
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment by following all safety guidelines and reporting any hazards to the appropriate leadership
Work closely with team members and leadership to meet daily, weekly, and monthly departmental goals
Abide by all company and warehouse policies
Flex into other positions and departments and undertake additional duties as necessary to support the overall operation

WAGE

Starting Wage is $24.00/hr, with the potential raise every 6 months of up to $0.88.

Physical Requirements

Work is performed while standing and/or walking, up to and including 12 hours/day.
Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision, and hearing.
Requires the regular use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.
Requires regular bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, and reaching.
Requires the ability to regularly lift, carry, push, or pull medium weights, up to 75lbs.

Experience

1 year of relevant experience in a distribution environment; receiving and/or inventory experience preferred but not required.
