WebstaurantStore is seeking a Material Handler to unload, receive, store, pick, pack, and ship inventory in our warehouse. This role uses ERP systems and forklift equipment to ensure accurate inbound and outbound operations.

The position requires strong communication, the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, and a commitment to safety and efficiency. Education is not required, and related experience is valued.

Qualifications

1 year+ of relevant experience in a distribution environment preferred but not required.
Business proficiency in English (written and spoken).
Ability to operate warehouse equipment including forklifts and scanners.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Unload deliveries from trailers using forklift equipment or by hand.
Use ERP to receive inventory accurately and stock it.
Move palletized product with pallet jacks/forklift to organize receiving dock.
Scan and place inventory in racking locations using handheld devices.
Retrieve items from racking using handheld scanners and ERP system.
Sort and consolidate picked items for shipment processing.
Pack products securely using internal SPS system.
Operate warehouse equipment following safety guidelines.
Meet performance standards for efficiency, accuracy and quality of work.
Maintain a clean, safe work environment and report hazards.
Collaborate with team to meet daily, weekly, monthly goals.
Adhere to company and warehouse policies.
Flex into other roles as needed.

Job description

Job Summary

The Material Handler is responsible for unloading, checking in, stocking, picking, consolidating, packing, and shipping inventory in the warehouse. These tasks must be completed to an efficient and accurate standard to ensure smooth inbound and outbound operations. This position requires the use of our internal warehouse systems and various warehouse equipment, which may include Powered Industrial Trucks.

Responsibilities

Unload live domestic deliveries from trailers using forklift equipment, or unload import containers by hand
Use our ERP system to systematically receive inventory accurately and efficiently, ready to be placed in storage racking
Move palletized product using pallet jacks/forklift equipment to organize the receiving dock, or transport product to other areas of the Distribution Center
Scan and place inventory in racking locations using forklift equipment and a handheld scanning device, ready for warehouse operations
Retrieve items from racking accurately and efficiently, using handheld scanning devices and ERP system, completed on foot or using forklift equipment
Sort and consolidate picked items using handheld scanning devices, preparing customer orders for shipment processing
Pack products accurately and securely using our internal SPS system, focusing on providing an excellent customer experience
Operate warehouse equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, scanners, and computers, following all established protocols and promoting safe working standards
Meet all expected performance standards regarding efficiency, accuracy, and quality of work
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment by following all safety guidelines and reporting any hazards to the appropriate leadership
Work closely with team members and leadership to meet daily, weekly, and monthly departmental goals
Abide by all company and warehouse policies
Flex into other positions and departments and undertake additional duties as necessary to support the overall operation

Physical Requirements

Work is performed while standing and/or walking, up to and including 12 hours/day.
Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision, and hearing.
Requires the regular use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.
Requires regular bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, and reaching.
Requires the ability to regularly lift, carry, push, or pull medium weights, up to 75lbs.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

Ability to operate warehouse equipment, including forklifts, order pickers, etc.
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Ability to quickly adapt as business needs change; ability to address difficult situations with diplomacy and emotional intelligence
Customer service-oriented attitude with a demonstrated desire to exceed expectations
