POSITION PURPOSE: Responsible for performing routine hazardous and non-hazardous waste tasks, including the movement of solids and liquids. Under supervision, tasks may involve manual labor such as cleaning, decontamination, vacuum operations, and handling, packing, re-packing, loading, and unloading containers for processing or transportation.

PRIMARY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Load and unload various containers (totes, drums, tankers, trailers, etc.).
2. Construct, label, and load boxes and fiber containers.
3. Operate tools such as impact wrenches, shovels, jackhammers, etc.
4. Transport hazardous waste within facilities as directed.
5. Decontaminate and dispose of drums and containers according to regulations.
6. Complete paperwork for processing and transporting materials.
7. Perform housekeeping duties to maintain a safe work environment.
8. Inspect handling equipment as directed.
9. Assist in loading/unloading waste materials at designated sites using appropriate equipment.
10. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education / Experience / Background

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• 3 to 6 months of experience in hazardous waste or chemical industry preferred, with proficiency in handling forklifts and tools.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

• Ability to read and write effectively.
• Training in material handling equipment operation.

Required Certification / Licenses / Training

• 40-Hour HAZWOPER training preferred.
