Job summary

Dover Food Retail in South Chesterfield, VA, is seeking a Material Handler II to load, unload, and move materials, ensuring accurate inventory flow and timely distribution.

You will operate forklifts and other handling equipment, perform cycle counts and transfers, and contribute to continuous improvements in the distribution department. This full-time role requires teamwork and safety-conscious work habits.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 1-2 years forklift experience.
• Experience pulling orders in a warehouse environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Consignment inventory, location to location moves, and inventory adjustments.
• Assist in the cycle counting process as requested.
• Operate hand trucks, forklifts, hoists, conveyors, or other handling equipment to move material to and from trucks or within the facility.
• Maintain ongoing inventory accuracy of the facility and notify appropriate personnel when control issues are discovered.
• Work with Inventory Control & Lead(s) during investigations of quality issues, inventory issues, shipping complaints and process improvements.
• Complete all requested material transfers accurately and on time.
• Transfer, transport and stage materials in a timely and accurate manner. Maintain warehouse documentation and related records.
• Participate in continuous improvement of the distribution department.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications

• 2+ years experience pulling orders in a warehouse environment.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift 50 pounds or more, push and pull cases ranging from 200 to 800 pounds repetitiously.
• Regularly required to stand, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, and talk or hear.
• Frequently required to walk, reach with hands and arms; occasionally required to sit, stoop, and/or kneel.
