Responsibilities
  • Read sales orders and follow oral, phone or e‑mail instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved.
  • Open containers and gather orders based on visual observation or tickets pulled from supply or workstation Kanban.
  • Receive incoming materials, parts, and packages from suppliers; unpack, examine and route shipments; reject damaged items; record shortages; and correspond with shippers or suppliers to rectify damages and shortages.
  • Deliver paperwork to data entry for appropriate input.
  • Arrange timely pickup by carrier specified on purchase order and prepare or attach appropriate paperwork for outbound product or materials.
  • Order material from warehouse or storage area via ERP system for production lines.
  • Load and unload materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks and shelves by hand.
  • Load and unload materials onto and from vehicles with larger and heavier loads by forklift; use manual material handling devices for smaller loads.
  • Prepare outbound goods by installing or fabricating crating, strapping, bracing or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit.
  • Use crimping or banding tools or stretch wrap by hand or machine to prepare some materials for movement.
  • Convey materials from storage or worksite to designated area by use of forklift.
  • Attach identifying tags or labels to materials or mark information on cases or other containers; deliver appropriate paperwork to data entry.
  • Stack or assemble materials into bundles and band bundles together.
  • Operate industrial truck or electric hoist to assist in loading or moving materials and products.
  • Maintain adequate amount of shipping and/or receiving materials on hand at all times.
  • Assist with cycle counts and inventory counts as directed by supervisor.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1–2 years forklift experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2+ years experience pulling orders in a warehouse environment.
Physical Demands

This role requires lifting 50 pounds or more, bending, twisting or lifting from awkward positions or in tight spaces, and pushing or pulling cases weighing 200–800 pounds repetitiously. Employees are regularly required to stand, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, and talk or hear. Employees frequently walk and reach with hands and arms; occasionally sit, stoop and/or kneel.
