Corrections Professionals

Corrections professionals who foster a humane and secure environment and ensure public safety by preparing individuals for successful reentry into our communities.

Minimum Qualification Requirements

To be considered for the position, you must meet the following qualification requirements:

1. Applicants must have had sufficient training and experience to demonstrate their ability to perform the duties of the position.
2. Qualifications will be determined by comparing your application to the responses to the Applicant Assessment Questions against the guidelines found in the Job Qualification System for Trades and Labor Occupations, WS-6907 series.
3. To qualify, you MUST meet the Barely Acceptable level on both screen-out elements (Ability to supervise and Aptitude for work with prisoners); receive at least one half of the total possible points; AND you must provide detailed information on your resume to support your assessment responses, demonstrating that you clearly possess the experience and skills to perform the duties at the journeyman level. Failure to specifically identify skills equivalent to a journeyman may result in a lower score or ineligibility.

The screen-out elements are a critical self-assessment of the applicant's experience and are essential for satisfactory job performance.

If applicable, credit will be given for paid and unpaid experience. To receive proper credit, you must specify the actual time spent in activities, such as hours worked per week.
