Responsibilities
Load and unload trucks containing steel and other raw materials.
Verify type, grade, quality, and quantity of raw materials being received and being transferred to manufacturing – complete documentation accordingly.
Put away, store, and organize raw materials in proper locations using FIFO methods and complete system documentation.
Maintain grounds and overall site tidiness including snow removal, grading, power sweeping, removal of garbage and scrap.
Assist with moving other items in and out of the plant such as finished WIP, scrap material, dumpsters, etc.
Coordinate and collaborate the movement of materials with other material handlers, forklift operators and shipper/receivers.
Share forklifts and all material handling equipment.
Ensure safety requirements are followed with utmost importance by safely operating all material handling equipment.
