Company Description

Hours of Operation are Monday - Friday, 5am - 6pm (You could work 1st, 2nd, or Mid shifts).

Material Handler Shipping Lead should master all Material Handler 3 responsibilities and demonstrate efficiency in equipment operation and daily transaction codes within the department. The Shipping Lead is responsible for handling tile and related products in various applications to distribute quality products to The Tile Shop stores and customers, as well as assisting the Shipping Supervisor in daily operations as needed. Material handlers must maintain a clean, safe, organized work area and be capable of manually moving and lifting 50 lbs., with frequent lifts over 100 lbs. They must be able to work scheduled shifts and follow directions.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

1. Perform start-of-shift responsibilities such as printing pick tickets, resolving order issues, and printing pallet tags and stickers.
2. Assign and communicate tasks throughout the shift.
3. Assist with or conduct start-of-shift meetings professionally.
4. Teach, coach, and train team members in department operations.
5. Identify training opportunities and mentor staff.
6. Use computer programs for training and assist others in their use.
7. Work with supervisors on corrective actions and disciplinary measures.
8. Assist stores with product inquiries and customer service issues.
9. Utilize wireless RF devices or computers to perform department-specific T-Codes.
10. Select pick tickets and manage the movement of pallets, boxes, and items.
11. Ensure inventory accuracy during all handling processes.
12. Participate in cycle counting as needed.
13. Lead the team on the floor with clear directions.
14. Operate equipment such as sit-down forklifts, reach trucks, order pickers, and pallet jacks, maintaining them in good condition.
15. Label and build pallets and crates securely and accurately.
16. Maintain a safe, clean, and organized environment.
17. Load and unload trucks safely using appropriate equipment.
18. Work in other departments as necessary.
19. Meet attendance requirements, including long hours, nights, and weekends when needed.
20. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum of 2 years warehouse/distribution experience.
• Ability to read and write in English.
• Valid certification or ability to obtain certification for sit-down forklift, reach truck, and order picker within 30 days.
• Strong organizational, mathematical, and computer skills.
• Knowledge of safety procedures.
• Ability to manually lift 50 lbs. regularly and over 100 lbs. occasionally.
• Ability to work at heights and stand/walk frequently.
• Ability to work independently and in teams.
• Ability to move trailers with a yard dog/switcher within the complex.
