General Purpose

Receive, store, and pull raw and finished goods through the facility in an accurate, safe and timely manner, along with the proper part tracking documentation.

Essential Functions
  • Verify quantities and ensure proper labeling of product on order and/or shipping memos being pulled for shipment; verify orders pulled by other material handlers.
  • Pull raw and finished goods for orders and shipping memos in a timely manner with 100 percent record accuracy.
  • Tag parts correctly using load list, routings, or ICOs as needed. Tag parts with correct labels to specify the destination.
  • Actively participates in improvement activities within current department or other departments.
  • Change hi-lo battery as necessary. Wear appropriate safety equipment as posted in battery changing area.
  • Commit to meeting overtime requirements.
  • Complete required paperwork correctly to ensure record accuracy.
  • Consolidating raw and finished goods to ensure sufficient open locations are maintained to handle incoming product.
  • Depending on work location may follow ISO work instructions related to position and other departmental requirements.
  • Flexibility to meet team, department, and plant goals.
  • Know and practice corporate, plant, and department safety guidelines.
  • Load finished product onto trailers for shipment in a neat and organized manner, always remembering to identify on orders product that went into a particular trailer.
  • Maintain a clean, safe work area, free from excess debris on floor, racks, and outside dock areas using 5S principles.
  • Make sure hi-lo license is kept current.
  • Must have a sense of urgency and a strong will to satisfy our customers.
  • Operate equipment (stand‑up hi‑los, order pickers, pallet cars, fork lifts, etc.) in a safe manner, ensuring that hi‑lo equipment is kept clean and free of debris. Perform daily safety inspections and checklists. Communicates problems or issues to the maintenance department.
  • Participate in inventory location, physical inventory, and cycle count program as needed.
  • Perform paperwork accuracy checks and quality control inspections as required.
  • Work independently without direct supervision.

Education/Experience:
One of the following is required: (1) High school diploma or its equivalent (GED for example), (2) work experience which demonstrates performance competency.

  • Able to read, understand, communicate, and interpret written and verbal instructions, work documentation, policies and practices, etc.
  • Able to work cooperatively within the team as well as with members of other teams to meet goals.

  • Committed to team success through reliable attendance.
  • If not currently holding a hi-lo license, employee must pass all required tests within thirty days of accepting the position.
  • Must have a sense of urgency and be able to follow written and verbal instruction explicitly.
  • This position requires passing a drug and alcohol test.

Must pass vision test administered by the employee clinic. Able to bend, twist, and stand. Depending on work location, must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Depending on work location, must be able to move items weighing up to 360 lbs with assistance, including hi-lo’s, lift assists, hand trucks, dollies, and/or work teams.
