Job summary

MillerKnoll is seeking a manufacturing associate to assemble products in a high‑volume setting guided by lean principles. You will learn cross‑training across departments and contribute to timely, high‑quality outputs.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or GED and be comfortable standing for long periods, with good math skills and teamwork. The role emphasizes safety, accuracy, and continuous improvement across shifts.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with team and other departments.
  • Willingness to adapt to a changing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Read, understand, and communicate written and verbal instructions and policies.
  • Complete required paperwork accurately to ensure records.
  • Maintain a clean, safe work area following 5S and safety guidelines.
  • Participate in improvement activities within the department or others as needed.
  • Perform at least 75% of department tasks at the required rate (cycle time).
  • Rotate through workstation as needed based on business needs.
  • Report safety or quality issues to the supervisor.
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance; work overtime as needed.
  • Perform all essential functions with or without reasonable accommodations.

GENERAL PURPOSE
The manufacturing associate position assembles products and/or related parts in a manufacturing setting at a standard rate of work based upon customer demand and lean manufacturing principles to satisfy the customer and to provide high-quality products delivered in a timely manner. Problem solves with the assistance of other team members and seeks continuous improvement activities. The position follows standard work methods and practices safe work habits to ensure production is as efficient and safe as possible. Required to learn additional functions through cross‑training in other departments.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Reads, understands, communicates, and interprets written and verbal instructions, work documentation, policies and practices, etc.

  • Completes required paperwork correctly to ensure record accuracy.

  • Maintains a clean, safe working environment according to 5S and department safety guidelines.

  • Participates in improvement activities within current department or other departments as appropriate.

  • Performs a minimum of 75% of the jobs in the department at the required rate (cycle time).

  • Rotates through the department workstations based on business need.

  • Checks equipment and product as needed, reports problems or issues regarding safety or quality to department supervisor.

  • Regular and predictable attendance based on scheduled hours.

  • Works overtime as needed.

  • Must be able to perform all essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.

  • Performs additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives.

Education/Experience

  • One of the following is required: (1) High school diploma or its equivalent (GED for example), (2) work experience which demonstrates performance competency

  • Competent in basic math skills such as counting, adding, and subtracting.

  • Ability to work cooperatively within the team as well as with members of other teams to meet goals.

  • Demonstrated willingness to adapt to a continually changing environment.

  • Required to communicate and to be able to see with or without correction.
