Material Handler - Resin
The Resin Material Handler’s primary responsibility is to ensure resin and color concentrate are provided to all presses in a timely manner.
JOB DUTIES & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Communicate with incoming Resin M.H. regarding press resin status and upcoming mold changes.
- Follow BOM instructions for correct resin and color.
- Complete all appropriate paperwork thoroughly, including Mold Set-up sheets.
- Coordinate with shift leadership on mold changes.
- After production, drain, label, and weigh resins and color concentrates before storing.
- Maintain a clean and organized manufacturing and warehouse area.
- Ensure proper resin is at conveying area, dried if necessary, ready for use.
- Properly cover and label all resin containers and handling materials.
- Utilize FIFO method for resin usage, ensuring partials are used first.
- Adhere to company policies, safety standards, and good housekeeping practices.
- Cross-train in other Material Handling duties within the MP&L Team.
- Assist in physical inventories periodically.
- Comply with all environmental policies and report incidents.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.

Qualifications
Knowledge:
- Production and Processing: Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and effective manufacturing techniques.
- Mechanical: Knowledge of machines, tools, their design, use, repair, and maintenance, including hand carts, utility knives, and forklifts.
- Education/Training: High school diploma or equivalent; or up to six months related experience or training; or equivalent combination. Experience as a material handler in manufacturing preferred. Certified forklift training (sit-down and stand-up).
Skills:
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and manuals. Write routine reports and correspondence.
Abilities:
- Ability to operate a forklift for full shifts, including overtime, with skills such as:
- Quickly adjusting forklift controls.
- Responding to signals and environmental cues while driving.
- Close vision and color vision to ensure quality standards.
- Vision and hearing abilities necessary for safe driving.
- Lift, push, pull, or carry objects up to 55 pounds regularly and occasionally up to 75 pounds.
