Job summary

The Pittsburgh Paints Company in Huron, OH is hiring a Material Handler to receive and move raw materials, unload shipments, and support production readiness. You will operate forklifts, use RF scanners, and help maintain accurate inventory records.

Starting pay is $19.52 per hour with a $1.00 shift differential for the 9 pm–7 am shift. Training on 1st shift for 6–8 weeks is required. Full-time benefits and bi‑weekly pay are provided.

Qualifications

  • Minimum age 18 with a High School Diploma or GED.
  • Prior material handling or forklift experience preferred.
  • Basic computer skills with ability to learn SAP and inventory systems.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs frequently and up to 80 lbs occasionally.
  • Ability to wear PPE and follow safety procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Receive incoming raw materials by unloading trailers and verifying quantities, condition, and accuracy of shipments.
  • Unload bulk materials from tank wagons into designated storage tanks.
  • Operate powered industrial trucks (PIT), including forklifts, to move pallets, totes, drums, and other materials.
  • Use inventory management systems to receive, move, and track raw material inventory.
  • Perform cycle counts and assist with investigations to maintain inventory accuracy.
  • Stage materials in advance to support upcoming production needs.
  • Maintain accurate inventory and movement records using RF scanners and computer systems.
  • Keep work areas clean and organized and perform basic equipment inspections.

Starting pay: $19.52 + 1.00 shift differential.

Shift: 3rd SHIFT- Sunday through Wednesday, 9 pm-7 am. Occasional overtime required for this role- You will train on 1st shift for the first 6-8 weeks. This is a requirement for this role.
