Job summary

Smithfield Foods is seeking Material Handlers/Powered Equipment Operators to support safe, efficient production and movement of product across the facility. You’ll work with forklifts and related equipment, maintaining attention to detail and reliability while upholding safety and quality standards.

Positions offer competitive starting pay of $22.20/hr with a $1.00/hr 2nd shift differential, comprehensive health insurance, retirement benefits, and an education benefit for eligible team members.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Able to stand for a 12-hour shift.
• Able to work around animal blood and carcass parts.
• Work in cold and hot environments and wear PPE.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts and equipment to move product throughout the facility and support production.
• Meet certifications during qualification period; physical tasks may be demanding.
• May require overtime based on production needs.
