Job summary

Leggett & Platt is hiring for a non-exempt hourly role focused on operating powered industrial trucks to load and unload materials on the production floor. The job requires a high school diploma or GED, reliable attendance, and strict adherence to safety standards.

Responsibilities include moving goods on pallets, checking loads, performing equipment checks, and maintaining accurate paperwork. Competitive benefits are offered as part of a comprehensive package.

Responsibilities

  • Obtains copy of production schedule and transports material to and from designated areas in the facility.
  • Moving goods packed on pallets or in crates around storage/production areas.
  • Stacking goods in correct areas following inventory instructions.
  • Checking loads are secure; stacking empty pallets.
  • Performing daily equipment checks and lubrication of equipment.
  • Removing machine attachments and waste material from machines.
  • Examining products to verify conformance to quality standards.
  • Dumping material into hoppers and trash into the compactor.
  • Complete paperwork with accuracy; maintain housekeeping.
  • Follow all procedures; perform other duties as assigned.

Range of Pay: $18.00 - $20.00

Job Summary:

Operate powered industrial trucks to load and unload materials to and from the production floor.

Qualifications, Knowledge, Education & Experience:

Must be at least 18 years of age to perform this job. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Obtains copy of production schedule and transports material to and from designated areas in the facility.
  • Moving goods packed on pallets or in crated around the storage/productions areas.
  • Stacking goods in the correct areas, following inventory control instructions.
  • Checking loads are secure
  • Stacking empty pallets
  • Performing daily equipment checks such as recharging the truck’s battery and lubricating equipment.
  • Removing machine attachments and waste material from machines.
  • Examining products to verify conformance to quality standards.
  • Dumping material into machine hoppers
  • Dump thrash into compactor.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork with a high level of accuracy.
  • Maintain excellent housekeeping practices in production area.
  • Practice proper safety techniques.
  • Complete general area maintenance duties on equipment as assigned. This may include help from the maintenance department when necessary.
  • Follow all procedures and guidelines.
  • Perform other duties as assigned and/or requested.
Education:
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent required; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience:
  • Good mechanical aptitude.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Attendance/Punctuality- Is consistently at work and on time.
  • Quality- Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness; maintains a clean and organized work environment.
  • Quantity- Meets productivity standards; Completes work in timely manner; Strives to increase productivity.

  • Able to work accurately from verbal and written instructions.
