Job summary

Elite Comfort Solutions, a Leggett & Platt Company, is seeking a Bun Shipping Utility Person to support daily shipping, inventory, and material-handling operations. This is a Monday–Friday, 4AM–12PM shift, with responsibilities across High-Bay, Looper, and shipping activities.

You will evaluate needs at shift start, manage inventory, operate conveyors and cranes, and collaborate with supervisors to maintain safe, efficient workflow. High school diploma and some manufacturing experience required.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • 6 months of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • 3 months of experience operating heavy machinery preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate operational needs at the beginning of each shift.
  • Perform inventory responsibilities including tagging, scanning, locating, and counting bun inventory in the High-Bay and Looper areas.
  • Operate and monitor conveyors to assist with movement of foam throughout the High-Bay and Looper.
  • Operate the Looper crane to move, position, and organize foam inventory safely and efficiently.
  • Participate in monthly inventory counts, ensuring accuracy and proper documentation.
  • Fill in for truck line employees and crane operators during absences.
  • Clear the pour line at end of daily VISCO pours, ensuring area is safe and ready for next cycle.
  • Support shipping activities such as staging, labeling, pallet movement, and order preparation.

Job Summary

The Bun Shipping Utility Person supports daily shipping, inventory, and material‑handling operations by determining priority tasks at the start of each shift and performing a wide range of duties that keep High‑Bay, Looper, and shipping activities running smoothly. (Monday - Friday, 4AM - 12PM)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Evaluate operational needs at the beginning of each shift and determine which job functions require attention for the day.
  • Perform inventory responsibilities including tagging, scanning, locating, and counting bun inventory in both the High‑Bay and Looper areas.
  • Operate and monitor conveyors to assist with the movement of foam throughout the High‑Bay and Looper.
  • Operate the Looper crane to move, position, and organize foam inventory safely and efficiently.
  • Participate in monthly inventory counts, ensuring accuracy and proper documentation.
  • Fill in for truck line employees and crane operators during absences, maintaining continuity of operations.
  • Clear the pour line at the end of daily VISCO pours, ensuring the area is safe, clean, and ready for the next production cycle.
  • Support shipping activities such as staging, labeling, pallet movement, and order preparation as needed.
  • Communicate with supervisors and team members to coordinate workflow and address issues that arise during the shift.
  • Follow all safety, quality, and housekeeping standards to maintain a compliant and efficient work environment.
  • Perform additional duties assigned by supervision based on daily operational needs.
Education
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent required; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience
  • 6-months of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • 3-months of experience operating heavy machinery, preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Ability to assess and prioritize tasks independently at the start of each shift.
  • Experience with inventory processes such as scanning, tagging, and cycle counting.
  • Familiarity with conveyor systems and material‑handling equipment.
  • Ability to operate cranes or willingness to be trained and certified.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work safely in a fast‑paced production and shipping environment.
  • Physical ability to lift, move, and handle foam products and materials.
  • Attendance/Punctuality- Is consistently at work and on time.
  • Quality- Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness; maintains a clean and organized work environment.
  • Quantity- Meets productivity standards; Completes work in timely manner; Strives to increase productivity.
  • Safety- Observes all safety procedures and policies; Reports potentially unsafe conditions to supervisor; Uses equipment and materials properly.
  • Able to work accurately from verbal and written instructions.
