Job summary

Atkore International in Pendleton, OR is seeking a Material Handler to join our manufacturing team. The role involves packaging finished pipe, performing quality checks, and moving products with forklifts and other devices.

Shifts include day and night, with a schedule that alternates every other Wednesday. The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, strong math and communication skills, and the ability to lift up to 70 pounds.

Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred or equivalent.
• Excellent interpersonal and communications skills.
• Good understanding of basic math for counting and calculations.
• High attention to detail, time management and organization.
• Shows initiative and adaptability to change in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work safely and efficiently with PPE and in a production setting.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds unassisted and up to 70 pounds occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Pack finished pipe in proper crate quantities and ensure quality checks are performed.
• Weigh and transport finished product and cut crate boards to length.
• Process regrind and perform maintenance/cleanup for production and storage areas.
• Operate material handling devices including forklifts, pallet jacks, banders and nail guns.
• Follow plant safety rules and maintain organization under time pressures.
