Job summary

CEVA Logistics in Des Plaines, IL is seeking a Material Handler / Operator II to support warehouse operations. The role focuses on accurate handling, loading, receiving, and packing while maintaining a clean, safe workspace.

You will operate pallets, forklifts when trained, and collaborate with teammates to ensure on-time, error-free shipments. A high school diploma or GED and warehouse exposure are expected, with forklift certification preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; typically at least two years of warehousing or related logistics experience.
• Forklift certification; valid state driver’s license preferred.
• Ability to operate hand and power tools and warehouse equipment; basic software skills.
• Team-oriented with prompt, professional customer service mindset; able to read checklists and forms.

Responsibilities

• Develop and provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers.
• Execute manual labor: picking inventory, counting cargo, staging and loading goods; use pallet jacks.
• Coordinate receipt, storage and distribution of materials within the area.
• Sort and place materials on racks and pallets according to size, type and product code.
• Assist with training and guiding new hires as needed.
• Operate forklift when required and fully trained; avoid most heavy transports.
• Complete forms and labels to ensure inventory accuracy and traceability.
• Identify and communicate potential operational or service concerns; assist with maintenance tasks.
