Job summary

CEVA Logistics in Melrose Park, IL is hiring for a Material Handler / Operator II. You will support warehouse operations by handling inventory, loading, staging, and coordinating material flow, while maintaining safety and quality in a fast-paced environment.

Role requires forklift certification, basic software use, and a high school diploma or GED. A valid driver’s license is preferred, with opportunities for advancement into lead roles within a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Forklift certification typically required within 3–6 months of hire.
• Valid state driver’s license preferred.
• Ability to operate hand and power tools and basic warehouse equipment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers, collaborating and communicating proactively.
• Perform warehouse tasks: picking inventory, counting cargo, loading and staging goods, and using pallet jacks or hand trucks.
• Coordinate receipt, storage and distribution of materials within the assigned area; prepare and assemble orders.
• Sort and place materials on racks, shelves and pallets according to predefined criteria; support lead operators as needed.
• Assist with training new hires and potentially serve as lead operator in smaller teams.
• Operate forklift when required and fully trained, handling standard operations.
