Job summary

Great Dane is seeking a Material Handler to transport materials, supplies, and finished products within our Nebraska facility. This role emphasizes safety, accuracy, and efficiency while supporting manufacturing operations.

You will use RFGen scanning and fork trucks, with on-site training for certification within 30 days. Starting pay is from $22 per hour with a $2 per hour night shift premium, plus overtime opportunities.

Qualifications

• Must be able to accurately read a tape measure.
• Must be able to remember how to perform multiple tasks from day to day.
• Must be able to perform the physical requirements listed in that section of this job description.
• Look for cost-saving opportunities and minimize scrap and waste.
• Meet or exceed required production levels.
• 1-2 years of fork truck experience preferred.
• 1-2 years of scan gun experience preferred.
• Ability to work with hands and follow instructions.
• Ability to identify and resolve problems promptly.
• Effective English communication.
• Excellent organizational and detail-oriented skills.
• Good math and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Receives, distributes, and stores products in designated locations.
• Maintains records of materials received and shipped with dates and locations.
• Reviews shipments for quality and accuracy; checks documents.
• Expedites shipments affecting the manufacturing schedule.
• Transports and loads materials manually or with hand trucks.
• Optimize loads for efficiency.
• Ensure fork truck safety and inspect loads daily.
• Resolve issues with contractors or vendors when problems arise.
• Manage inventory using RFGen scanning.
• Report workplace safety hazards and maintain clean areas.
• Collaborate with team leaders and coworkers.
