Job summary

Great Dane LLC is seeking a Material Handler to transport materials, supplies, and finished products within our facility. The role emphasizes safe handling, accurate records, and efficient loading to support production schedules.

Responsibilities include receiving, storing, and tallying shipments, expediting critical loads, and maintaining inventory with RFGen. Must obtain a forklift license within 30 days and uphold our safety standards.

Qualifications

• Read a tape measure accurately.
• Ability to perform multiple tasks from day to day.
• Able to meet the physical requirements listed.
• Seek cost savings, minimize scrap, use supplies efficiently.
• 1–2 years of fork truck experience preferred.
• 1–2 years of scan gun experience preferred.
• Follow instructions—verbal or written.
• Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
• Communicate effectively in English.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Good math skills.
• Efficient time management.

Responsibilities

• Receives, distributes, and stores products as directed in designated, secure locations.
• Prepares and maintains records of materials received and shipped including dates, locations, and other pertinent information.
• Reviews shipments for quality and accuracy; reviews accompanying documents for accuracy.
• Confirms shipping details or special instructions; expedites shipments that affect the manufacturing process schedule.
• Transports and loads materials, supplies, and finished goods (manually and/or using hand trucks and skids).
• Optimizing loads to ensure operational efficiency.
• Securing loads to machine before transportation.
• Resolves issues with contractors or vendors when problems arise.
• Manages inventory by utilizing RFGen scanning equipment.
• Identifies and reports workplace safety hazards.
• Maintains cleanliness of assigned area and surrounding areas.
• Works closely with leaders and other employees in a team environment.
• Must obtain valid fork truck license and certification within first 30 days of employment.
• Collects and properly disposes of scrap bracing, cardboard, and strapping; maintains a safe and clean work environment.
• Follows all Great Dane safety requirements when transporting loads and otherwise.
• Ensures fork truck safety inspection sheet is completed daily.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
