Job summary

PPG is seeking a Material Handler at the Lima, OH Distribution Center. You will work night shifts from 10:00pm to 6:30am, with a starting pay of $19.00 per hour plus a $1.50 per hour night shift differential.

Some overtime is available depending on business needs, and daily bi-weekly pay is provided. Responsibilities include unloading trailers, stocking inventory, processing various orders, using RF scanners and Oracle WMS, and preparing shipping documents.

Qualifications

  • 1–2 years warehouse/manufacturing experience.
  • Basic reading, writing, mathematical and communication skills.
  • Hazardous materials experience is a plus.
  • Forklift experience beneficial.
  • Ability to work holidays and overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Unload incoming trailers using hand or electric powered equipment.
  • Check incoming shipments and store materials with proper stock rotation.
  • Process orders (pallet, small package, etc.) accurately.
  • Use computers, RF scanners and power equipment following best practices.
  • Prepare shipping documents in Oracle Warehouse Management Software.
  • Follow DOT, OSHA, EPA, EEO, ISO, and PPG policies.
  • Participate in inventory, cycle counts, and audits.
  • Attend safety meetings and safety observations.
  • Perform minor maintenance on warehouse equipment.
  • Assist the Distribution Manager, Assistant Manager or Supervisor as required.

Job description

Material Handler - Lima, OH

Location is PPG Lima, OH Distribution Center, Fort Shawnee Industrial Drive.

Starting Pay is $19.00-hour, Night shift, $1.50/hr. shift differential. Bi-Weekly Pay.

Night Shift Hours 10:00pm - 6:30 am.

Some Overtime available depending on business needs.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Unload incoming trailers from plant or suppliers of finished goods using hand or electric powered equipment.
  • Check incoming shipments and place material in proper storage bin locations while maintaining proper stock rotation of materials.
  • Process all types of orders (pallet, small package, etc.,.) efficiently and without error.
  • Use computers, RF scanners and power equipment as well as following distribution best practices regarding efficient workflow/processing.
  • Prepare shipping documents for all outgoing shipments ensuring all required inputs are entered into the Oracle Warehouse Management Software.
  • Understand and adhere to all applicable DOT, OSHA, EPA, EEO, ISO, and other PPG policies and regulations.
  • Participate in inventory, cycle counting, and audits as required. Ensure times replenishment and identification of potential material shortages.
  • Participate in safety meetings, safety observations, and all other required meetings.
  • Perform minor maintenance as required on warehouse equipment including the electric/manual pallet jack, forklift and other special equipment related to the distribution center.
  • Assists the Distribution Manager, Assistant Manager or Supervisor in the performance of selected duties or special projects as required.
Qualifications
  • One to Two years warehouse/manufacturing experience.
  • Need to have basic reading, writing, mathematical and communication skills to process orders and complete paperwork.
  • Previous experience in paint and or/hazardous materials is a plus.
  • Good interpersonal skills, detail oriented, basic computer and organizational skills.
  • Repeatedly lift up to 50 pounds and stand on feet for extended period of time.
  • Previous fork-truck and hand-jack experience beneficial.
  • Ability to work holidays and overtime as needed.
