Job summary

BlueLinx Holdings Inc. is seeking a dedicated Material Handler/Forklift Operator for our Minneapolis distribution center. Join a team that values safety, quality service, and reliability while handling building materials daily.

You will operate forklifts safely, load and unload shipments, and contribute to inventory accuracy with routine paperwork and inspections. This role offers a stable schedule and opportunities to grow within a leading wholesale distributor.

Qualifications

• One year of recent forklift/warehouse experience.
• Proficient and safe forklift operation, including loading/unloading trucks.
• Ability to understand and follow directions.
• Ability to work independently and at times under pressure.
• Physical ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
• Ability to read and comprehend sales orders, purchase orders, and safety material.
• Safe work record and stable work history.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklift in compliance with safety guidelines and training.
• Load, unload, and store building materials from trailers or rail cars while minimizing damage.
• Store and retrieve material (piece pick and/or bulk).
• Prepare paperwork required for distribution and shipping of products.
• Perform daily inspection and maintenance of equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness and tidiness in working and assigned area.
• Assist in periodic inventory counts as requested.
