Job summary

Southern States LLC is seeking a Full-time position on the 1st Shift (7AM-3:30PM) in Virginia. The role involves loading, unloading, moving, and cleaning materials near the plant or yard.

You will follow work orders, handle containers, and ensure a clean, safe work area. Requirements include a high school diploma or GED and basic math skills; a WorkKeys readiness is noted. Benefits include health insurance and retirement options.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Mathematical skills: add/subtract whole numbers, fractions and decimals; use calipers, scales, rulers, etc.
• WorkKeys Ready: Applied Math 3, Graphic Literacy 4, Workplace Observation 2.

Responsibilities

• Read work orders or follow oral instructions to identify materials or containers to move.
• Open containers and load/unload materials from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand.
• Install strapping or padding to prevent shifting or damage during transit.
• Move materials from storage or work sites to designated areas.
• Count, weigh, and record units moved on daily production sheets.
• Attach tags or labels to materials and document information on cases and containers.

Pay: $19.11 - $20.49 per hour

HOW YOU WILL ADD VALUE

6. 6. Counts, weighs, and records number of units of materials moved or handled on daily production sheet.
7. 7. Attaches identifying tags or labels to materials or marks information on cases, bales, or other containers.
8. 8. Operate and maintain SmartSkim, or coolant recycling system.
9. 9. Lifts heavy objects by hand or with power hoist, and cleans work area, machines, and equipment to assist machine operators.
10. Cleans materials by hand or with cleaning equipment.
11. Immerses objects in washing and rinsing solutions to remove debris.
12. Fills tanks with water to specified level. Pours specified quantity of soap or chemicals into water.
13. Cleans work area, machines, tools, and equipment.
14. Maintains equipment and working area in a clean and orderly condition.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential dutysatisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/orability required.

• EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); up to one monthof related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add and subtract whole numbers, fractions and decimals. Ability to use simple mathematical and geometric devices, such as, calculators, calipers, scales, measuring tapes, etc.
