Job description

Material Handler Lead - Warehouse Operations

Labcorp is seeking a Material Handler Lead of Diagnostic Warehouse Operations. You will be an integral part of a dynamic and growing Material Handling team, reporting to the Supervisor of Diagnostics Warehouse Operations.

Shift: Monday through Friday

Hours: 7:30 am to 4:00 pm

Overtime and weekend work as needed.

Location: Madison, WI

Working Conditions
  • Consistent exposure to temperature, dust, noise, and the like.
  • Requires working with frequent interruptions and changes.
  • Ability to respond to alarm alerts when scheduled.
Duties And Responsibilities
  • Support and co‑lead daily work direction to staff, supporting policies, procedures and practices that assure compliance with all regulatory requirements, laboratory practices, customs requirements and any other applicable legal, regulatory or company requirements.
  • Provide technical direction to Warehouse Leadership (Supervisor and Manager).
  • Provide training and assistance to other staff members and internal customers.
  • Perform a variety of activities related to receiving, distributing, storing, inventory control and/or shipping of samples, supplies, controlled substances, mail and/or other materials to meet company standards of quality, customer service, safety, and productivity.
Minimum Education And Experience
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • 2–3 years continuous work history within Labcorp shipping and/or receiving and customer service experience within a distribution or warehouse environment.
  • Training and experience operating forklifts, order pickers and pallet jacks safely.
  • Experience using bar code / inventory control tracking equipment.
  • Professional certifications: DOT/IATA training certification.
  • Experience in spreadsheet development.

  • Recognizes unusual situations, takes immediate action if within scope, and notifies supervisor of action taken.
  • Active listening skills, written and verbal communication skills, detail‑oriented and organized.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to multitask within multiple systems.
  • Adaptable with changing duties, following SOPs but able to problem‑solve and deviate as required by specific requests.
  • Strong customer‑service skills and quality in performance of all essential duties.
  • Accurately reads and records information.
  • Basic math skills.
