Job summary

Staffmark is hiring a Material Handler Lead in La Vergne, TN on the 1st shift (Mon–Fri, 6:00AM–2:45PM). The role leads warehouse staff, ensures accurate inventory, and coordinates inbound/outbound activities using WMS and RF scanners. Candidates should have a High School Diploma or GED, forklift certification, a valid driver's license, and basic PC skills.

The position emphasizes safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement to keep products moving and customers serviced on time.

Qualifications

• This position requires a High School Diploma or GED and forklift certification or the ability to complete forklift training.
• Valid driver’s license is required.
• Basic computer proficiency including Word, Excel, Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Lead, train, coach, and support warehouse associates in daily operations.
• Coordinate staffing, work assignments, and workflow to meet productivity and customer service goals.
• Monitor inventory accuracy, material handling processes, and FIFO compliance.
• Oversee inbound and outbound shipping, receiving, loading, and unloading activities.
• Utilize WMS systems and RF scanners to manage inventory and track performance.
• Promote and enforce safety procedures, equipment inspections, and compliance standards.
• Communicate shift priorities and performance metrics with team and management.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and overall warehouse performance.

Education Requirements

Experience Requirements

• Experience in warehouse, distribution, logistics, shipping, receiving, or inventory control operations
• Experience using RF scanners and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
• Previous experience coordinating workflow or leading warehouse teams preferred
• Experience operating material handling equipment such as forklifts
