Job summary

South-Tek Systems in Wilmington, NC is hiring a Material Handler/Inventory Specialist to manage receiving, inspection and distribution of supplies and equipment in our manufacturing plant. We offer competitive pay and full benefits.

The role requires accuracy, organizational skills, and the ability to work outdoors in varying temperatures. You will operate forklifts and pallet jacks, record inventory in the WMS, and perform regular cycle counts while ensuring safety procedures are followed.

Qualifications

• Meticulous accuracy in counting, recording, and verifying inventory numbers and quantities required.
• Attention to detail and being organized required.
• Proficiency in using warehouse management systems and data entry application required.
• Minimum 2 years’ related work experience required.
• Must be able to pass a drug screen including THC required.
• Valid Driver’s License with clean record required.
• Ability to work independently with little to no supervision.
• Must be able to work in outside temperatures and conditions ranging from 20 degrees to 110 degrees.
• Must be able to lift, carry, push weight up to 75 lbs and the ability to walk stairwells and climb ladders.

Responsibilities

• Inspect incoming shipments for accuracy and damage upon arrival, verifying quantities against purchase orders.
• Accurately record and update inventory levels using warehouse management systems (WMS), including location tracking and stock rotation.
• Retrieve and pick items from designated storage locations based on customer orders, carefully packing items for shipment.
• Operate material handling equipment like forklifts and pallet jacks to load and unload trucks.
• Conduct regular inventory cycle counts to verify stock accuracy and identify discrepancies.
• Properly store materials in designated warehouse locations, maintaining cleanliness and order.
• Accurately input inventory data into computer systems, including receiving logs, stock transfers, and shipment details.
• Perform basic quality checks on received goods to ensure they meet specifications.
• Adhere to all warehouse safety procedures and regulations when handling materials and operating equipment.
