Job summary

Brodart Co. seeks a Warehouse/Books Production Associate to help move materials efficiently, pick customer orders with RF handheld devices, and stock inventory for future orders.

You will train new employees, perform data entry into SCS and Oracle, and ensure accuracy of labels and order processing for domestic and foreign accounts. This role requires standing 8 hours, lifting up to 70 lbs, working overtime, and collaborating respectfully with co-workers in a busy production floor.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to stand for 8-hour shifts and lift up to 70 lbs.
  • RF handheld device experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Pick books for customer orders using RF handheld devices.
  • Place selected books into containers and move via conveyor lines or book trucks.
  • Stock and shelve inventory; scan materials and correct stocking errors as needed.

Job description

Under the direction of the Supervisor, Books Production or their designee, this position provides for the efficient handling and movement of materials to and from designated areas in the facility as may be required for processing of product.Responsible for training new employees to pick books for customer orders using RF (radio frequency) handheld computer devices/ work with employees to be able to improve efficiency and best practice.Responsible for picking books for customer orders using RF (radio frequency) handheld computer devices.Place selected books into or onto appropriate container which includes totes that travel via a conveyor line or on book trucks which must be manually moved.Responsible for stocking and shelve inventory for future orders and scan materials via handheld RF device. Research and correct stocking errors as needed.Responsible to enter information into computer system as necessary for order fulfillment in SCS and Oracle and processing of appropriate labels and stickers, such as may be necessary for foreign and/or special accounts.May capture images of materials to assist in proper processing of materials and may strip materials to re-process materials according to requirements.Responsible for performing other duties of equal or lesser classification irrespective of required change in department, hours (including mandatory overtime) or work conditions as directed by supervisor.Maintain safe, clean and organized work areas, emptying trash cans and barrels and sweeping floors, as needed.Cross training and substitution of tasks that may be of higher classification as required by supervision.High School diploma and/or equivalent.Capable of performing at an acceptable proficiency level of competence within production standards of efficiency and skill.Ability to use a RF handheld computer device.Ability to read and understand filing conventions, write and follow verbal and written instructions.Flexible to make appropriate decisions regarding safety in handling materials and responsive to changing work environments.Ability to work/communicate effectively and respectfully with co-workers and to adhere to Brodart rules, policies and standards of conduct.Must be able to work in a production environment that may be subject to varied temperatures and other conditions, such as noise (conveyor), dust and glue or adhesives.Must be able to stand/walk for 8-hour shifts and possess the ability to frequently bend and lift 40 lbs. and up to 70 lbs. occasionally and push book trucks weighing several hundred pounds.
