Job summary

Collins Aerospace in San Dimas is hiring for a full-time warehouse expediter. You will manage material flow, pick/kit parts for production, and maintain accurate inventory using SAP/MRP/WMS and scanners.

This role supports production schedules and requires 2+ years in material handling with strong organizational skills. On-site responsibilities include cycle counting, 5S compliance, and expediting parts between production areas.

Qualifications

• Typically requires HS diploma (or equivalent) with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in material handling, warehouse planning, or related operational roles.
• Basic computer skills including SAP or other MRP systems, email, and Microsoft Office.
• Ability to meet physical requirements of material handling.

Responsibilities

• Put away, pick, kit, pack, and issue material to and from stock with high accuracy.
• Transfer incoming stock into bin locations and pick/kit materials for production orders.
• Transact material movements using SAP/MRP/WMS and handheld scanners.
• Operate storage systems like vertical lift modules and carousels.
• Perform cycle counting and verify inventory accuracy, resolving discrepancies.
• Maintain clean, safe work areas following 5S standards.
• Release work instructions, BOMs, and schematics to the production floor.
• Expedite parts between production areas to support schedule adherence.
• Monitor material shortages and take action to meet production needs.
• Coordinate with Production Control and Engineering to resolve issues.

Schedule

1st shift Monday-Friday 6:30am – 3:00pm with overtime on a business need basis.

Eligibility

Responsibilities

• Put away, pick, kit, pack, and issue material to and from stock with high accuracy.
• Transfer incoming stock from receiving or other warehouse locations into bin locations.
• Pick and kit materials for production, delivery orders, and transfer orders.
• Transact material movements using SAP/MRP/WMS, handheld scanners, and PCs.
• Operate vertical lift modules, carousels, and other storage/retrieval systems.
• Perform cycle counting, verify inventory accuracy, and resolve discrepancies.
• Apply correct FIFO, serialized, and lot/batch management methods.
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas following 5S standards.
• Maintain work orders and release all required work instructions, BOMs, and schematics to the production floor.
• Expedite parts and assemblies between production areas to support schedule adherence.
• Stay up to date on all material shortages throughout their lifecycle and take necessary action.
• Ensure production floor needs (replacement hardware, floor stock, etc.) are met promptly.
• Coordinate support between Production Control and Engineering to resolve issues.
• Follow and audit the physical flow of materials to ensure schedule conformance.
• Report problems and drive corrective actions as needed.
• Track inventory, place replenishment orders, and maintain stock levels based on planned needs.
• Track WIP hardware location and progress to ensure alignment with schedule commitments.

Required Qualifications

• Typically requires HS diploma (or equivalent, e.g., G.E.D in the US) or vocational/technical education in related discipline with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in material handling, warehouse, planning, production control, or a related operational role.
• Basic computer skills, including SAP or other MRP systems, email, and Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to meet physical requirements associated with material handling.

Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as a material expediter, production control expediter, or planning support role.
• 2+ years of Aerospace or Manufacturing industry experience.
• Familiarity with SAP, automated storage systems, and barcode scanning tools.
• Understanding of FIFO, serialization, lot/batch control, and WIP tracking.
