Job summary

MilliporeSigma in Rockville, MD is seeking a Material Handler 2 to manage receiving, storage, and distribution of materials and samples for Testing Operations. You will ensure quality procedures are followed and maintain accurate system transactions across ERP or LIMS.

The role emphasizes maintaining a safe, audit-ready workplace, supporting continuous improvement projects, and assisting with deviation investigations as needed. Strong communication and basic IT skills are required.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree with 1+ year of industry work experience.
• High School diploma or GED with 4+ years of industry work experience.
• Experience in life science or biotechnology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receive materials, client samples and/or internal finished goods daily, with checks against quality procedures.
• Ensure inventory is stored and distributed in line with GMP/GLP and maintain traceability in ERP/LIMS.
• Maintain stock accuracy through cycle counting and timely system maintenance.
• Operate material handling equipment as needed (hand truck, pallet jack, dock lever).
• Notifies relevant personnel and escalates deviations to supervisor/manager.
