Job summary

Marvin is seeking a Material Handler II for the Roanoke, VA area on the 2nd shift. You will support production by ensuring warehouse accuracy, processing parts requests, and maintaining a safe, efficient work environment.

The role requires forklift operation, attention to detail, and teamwork to meet production demands. The position offers a Monday–Friday shift from 3:00pm to 11:00pm with potential overtime and a $2/hour premium for the evening hours.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Forklift certification is required.
  • Computer classes or production experience are helpful.

Responsibilities

  • Read, sort and process complete orders.
  • Issue parts to the lines and operate a forklift to move parts to the line.
  • Operate power hand tools, scanners, and related equipment.
  • Assist with warehouse inventory and loading/unloading trucks.
  • Notify supervisor of mechanical or material issues.
  • Attach labels and tags to products and packages.
  • Communicate in English to perform essential functions.
  • Read and interpret assembly instructions on a computer screen.

Job Overview
Position Summary

This position is responsible for supporting production by maintaining warehouse accuracy and being prompt with parts requests; this is vital to production success. This position requires an individual that is highly focused on safety and can handle a high volume of parts requests, as well as, having the ability to prioritize. It is essential that a Material Handler can work successfully both independently and as part of a diverse team. Role is responsible for continuously striving to improve productivity, effectiveness, quality, and safety.

Your schedule and Pay
  • Work Monday-Friday: 3:00pm-11:00pm, OT as required
  • Pay starts at $21.00-$23.00/hour. Evening shift is eligible for a $2.00/hour premium.

Overtime may be required during business season.

Highlights of your role
  • Read, sort and process complete orders.
  • Issue parts to the lines as needed and operate a forklift to move and deliver parts to the line in a timely manner.
  • Operate power hand tools, scanners, computers, and work with various other equipment.
  • Assist with maintenance in the warehouse inventory and with loading and unloading trucks.
  • Notify supervisor of any mechanical or defective material issues.
  • Attach appropriate labels and tags to products and packages.
  • Ability to communicate in oral or written English to carry out essential functions.
  • Ability to read and understand visual and written assembly instructions on a computer screen to retrieve parts from a pick list.
  • Ability to be cross-trained in multiple functions within a between multiple department lines.
  • Effectively work with others.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment.

Also want to make sure you have
  • Standing and/or walking for 8 - 10 hours a day
  • Performing repetitive hand, wrist, and arm motions
  • Working at an established production rate pace entailing pushing and/or pulling of materials up to 150 pounds
  • Lifting up to 75 pounds as well as moving product on the floor of the trailers ranging from 50-400 pounds, team lifting may be required for heavier lifting
  • Bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, and turning
