CesiumAstro is seeking a Material Handler II to join our Austin, TX manufacturing team on 2nd shift. You will pull orders, move materials, stock inventory, and prepare shipments for our satellite communications equipment.

This role also trains and mentors teammates, supports process improvements, and helps ensure safe, efficient operations in our dynamic, startup-like environment. You will operate pallet jacks and lift heavy materials daily.

Qualifications

• 0-3 years of material handler experience.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Adept at handling multiple tasks of moderate complexity.
• Proficient with prioritizing tasks and meeting multiple deadlines.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Process improvement mindset.
• Knowledge of inventory control.
• Ability to lift heavy materials.
• Data entry skills and the ability to read and analyze information.

Responsibilities

• Pull orders from inventory, deliver production materials and supplies where needed, and stage finished product for distribution.
• Maintain stock and storage areas; keep inventory identified and labeled.
• Record locations of inventory and report shortages.
• Locate materials by pulling and verifying against production orders.
• Deliver materials to work centers and open materials as needed.
• Pack materials for shipping and prepare for shipment.
• Document shipments by recording units shipped.
• Operate pallet jacks and other equipment to move materials.
• Keep loading areas, inventory, and machinery clean; follow safety rules.
• Train and mentor team members to improve performance.
• Participate in process-improvement activities and promote continuous improvement.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensure orderly production and distribution of products by pulling orders from inventory, delivering production materials and supplies where needed, and staging finished product final distribution.
• Contribute to the orderly operation of stock and/or materials storage area.
• Maintain inventory by identifying, labeling, and keeping materials and supplies in stock, recording location of inventory, and reporting shortages.
• Locate materials and supplies by pulling and verifying materials and supplies listed on production orders.
• Maintain in‑process inventory at work centers by delivering and opening materials and supplies.
• Locate and packs materials for shipping.
• Document materials and records units delivered and location of units.
• Prepare finished stock for shipment by identifying, pulling, packing, crating, loading, and securing product.
• Document product shipment by recording units shipped.
• Operate pallet jacks, and other machinery to move items, or signals machine operators to move materials onto and off trucks, ships, and loading docks.
• Keep inventory, loading areas, and machinery clean.
• Open containers, sort, and catalog materials.
• Learn and adhere to workplace safety regulations.
• Train and mentor employees to become more proficient and productive in all aspects of Material Handler responsibilities.
• Participate in process improvement activities and promote a culture of continuous improvement.

JOB REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• 0-3 years of experience working as a material handler.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Adept at handling multiple tasks of moderate complexity simultaneously.
• Proficient with prioritizing tasks and meeting multiple deadlines.
• Excellent time managementand organizational skills.
• Process improvement mindset.
• Knowledge of inventory control.
• Ability to lift heavy materials.
• Data entry skillsand the ability to read and analyze information.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

• Previous stock or inventory experience.
• Previous experience operating a forklift or pallet jack.
