Job summary

Collins Aerospace, an RTX company, is hiring a Material Handler in Haltom City, TX. Perform kitting, material handling, and presentation of parts to production operators at designated point-of-use locations.

You will manage inventory, packaging, and issuing materials, and operate forklifts to move items within the factory. The role requires 1+ year experience in material handling or related fields, HS diploma/GED, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

  • HS diploma or GED with 1 year of related experience.
  • Experience with material handling, manufacturing, or operations.
  • U.S. Citizenship required to access program information.
  • Valid state driver’s license.
  • 1 year forklift/dolly experience in a factory setting.
  • Analytical and interpersonal skills; computer literacy preferred.
  • Proficient with inventory systems and MS Office and SAP.
  • Ability to understand and follow written instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Kit and present parts to production operators at designated locations.
  • Execute inventory and material control tasks including packaging and issuing materials.
  • Operate forklifts, dollies, and other equipment to transport material within the factory.
  • Determine proper storage locations, primarily in line-flow staging and use areas.
  • Coordinate and monitor material availability to support workflow.
  • Expedite material as needed to ensure continuous production flow.
  • Perform physical and cycle counts; investigate discrepancies.
  • Identify process issues and communicate with leadership.
  • Maintain records accurately and ensure work correctness.
  • Follow all procedures, safety requirements and EH&S rules.
  • Perform other duties to maintain product flow.
  • Work shift hours of 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM.

What You Will Do
  • Perform kitting, material handling, and presentation of parts to production operators at designated point‑of‑use locations.

  • Operate forklifts, dollies, and other equipment to transport material within the factory.
  • Determine proper material storage locations, primarily in line‑flow staging and point‑of‑use areas.
  • Coordinate and monitor material availability to support workflow; assist with scheduling and prioritizing activities in assigned areas.
  • Expedite material as needed to ensure continuous production flow.
  • Perform physical and cycle counts; investigate and resolve inconsistencies.
  • Identify process issues or delays and communicate effectively with leadership.
  • Maintain records accurately and ensure work correctness.
  • Follow all operating procedures, safety requirements, and environmental regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to maintain product flow.
  • Work shift hours of 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM.
Qualifications
  • Typically requires HS diploma (or equivalent, e.g. G.E.D. in the US) or vocational/technical education in related discipline with a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.
  • Experience with either material handling, manufacturing, or operations.
  • U.S. Citizen - U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
  • Valid state driver’s license.
  • Minimum 1 year experience operating forklifts, dollies, and other equipment to transport material within a factory.
  • Analytical and interactive skills; computer literacy is prefer.
  • Proficiency with inventory systems and basic computer applications (MS Office and SAP).
  • Ability to understand and follow written instructions.
  • Ability to function effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Customer‑focused, well organized, and capable of multitasking.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and provide status updates as needed.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to lift to 50 lbs. and perform physical activities such as standing, sitting, walking, bending, and stooping for extended periods.
  • Able to work in hot and cold working conditions as required.
