Job description

We are currently seeking a Material Handler to join our production team in Cannon Falls, MN to assist in machine operations as well as material movement.

Pay Rate: $21.10-$26.60 per hour, experience considered. Hours are in the day, Monday-Friday 7:00am-3:30pm.

A day in the life of a Material Handler at Gemini includes:

  1. Operate forklift truck or other material handling devices in the distribution of company/Plant specific products and materials.
  2. Support multiple facilities on one site.
  3. Manage intercompany/Plant specific transfers on Olson truck or designated transport, ensuring materials are sent to correct locations.
  4. Manage intercompany transfers and ensure materials are housed and/or sent to correct locations.
  5. Communicate with plants when truck list quantities cannot be met to establish prioritized substitutions.
  6. Utilize inventory management system to keep JobBoss/Harris up to date.
  7. Complete required documentation and update receiving database on all material received.
  8. Place received and inspected materials in appropriate bins, shelves, and storage locations, ensuring neat and orderly storage.
  9. Make computer entries for all shipping and receiving transactions.
  10. Conduct daily inventory management of raw materials and report to Plant Manager and/or purchasing.
  11. Remove scrap from work locations and transport to recycling area.
  12. Perform duties of a Utility Operator as needed.
  13. Assist with light preventive maintenance on company transporting equipment and notify Maintenance Lead of major repairs.
  14. Help locate stock received for production.
  15. Operate all equipment safely, following standard safety rules.
  16. Maintain a neat and orderly work area.
  17. Foster cooperation with department employees and superiors.
  18. Perform other duties as needed for the benefit of the organization.

  • Complete powered industrial truck certifications and pass performance tests.
  • Customer-focused mindset with ability to work on multiple projects.
  • Flexibility to work in various areas depending on company needs.
  • Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

Qualifications - Education & Experience

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • 2+ years forklift operation experience preferred.
