Job summary

Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking a Material Handler II in New York to perform essential warehouse operations. You will process SAP transactions, move materials between locations, and ensure accurate inventory records.

A 1-year distribution/warehouse background and stand-up forklift certification are required or in progress. The role offers standard Monday–Friday hours with multiple shifts and competitive benefits.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in distribution, warehouse or supply chain.
  • Licensed to operate stand-up/ walkie truck and valid certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all warehouse transactions in SAP and RF units.
  • Move finished goods to stock locations and verify quantities and catalog numbers.
  • Fill drop list for shipping, pick lists, and cycle counts as directed by supervisor.

How Will You Make an Impact? A Day in the Life: Performs all required Warehouse transactions in the SAP operating system on PC’s and Tecklogix Radio Frequency (RF) units. Promptly moves all finished goods material from designated areas to stock locations in the Warehouse. Verifies production move tickets, as to accuracy of quantities, description and catalog numbers. Fills “Drop List” for Shipping Pick List. Verifies accuracy of quantities and catalog numbers. Fills picking bays 01 levels from unallocated stock locations. Rotates and consolidates stock as necessary. Takes accurate cycle counts as directed. Performs other tasks as assigned by supervisor. Adhere to all company and departmental work and safety rules. Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Experience:

  • Required: Minimum of 1 year of work experience in distribution, warehouse or supply chain or related field. Must be licensed to operate stand-up truck.

  • Preferred: Experience with powered industrial trucks (licensed to operate order picker truck) Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Must have basic understanding of SAP, and use of weigh scales. Must be able to perform simple math such as add, subtract whole numbers. Must be able to read, write, and understand the English language. Must be licensed to operate a walkie truck. Knowledge in MS Office including Microsoft Word and Excel. Must have excellent hand/eye coordination skills, and the ability to lift and load pallets with weights up to 50 pounds. Compensation and Benefits

The hourly pay range estimated for this position Material Handler II based in New York is $14.41–$21.61.

This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
