Job summary

Hanger, Inc. is seeking a Material Handler II for the Alpharetta, GA area. This full-time role involves shipping, receiving, order fulfillment, stocking, and distribution of materials and equipment. The candidate may lift heavy items and operate a forklift, and will ensure accurate records for shipments and receipts.

Successful applicants will join a team focused on timely PO processing, inventory control collaboration, and proactive problem solving in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Typically requires a minimum of 2 years of related experience.

Responsibilities

• Unpacks and checks goods received against purchase orders or invoices and maintains records of received goods.

• Prepares and maintains records of merchandise shipped and posts weights and shipping charges.
• Coordinates with Purchasing and Inventory Control to address PO and stocking issues.
• Ensures receiving is completed in 24–48 hours and communicates any problems or deviations.

Performs the physical or administrative tasks involved in the shipping, receiving, order fulfillment, storing and distributing of materials, parts, supplies and equipment. Unpacks and checks goods received against purchase orders or invoices, maintains records of received goods and rejects unsatisfactory items. Lifts heavy items and may operate a forklift. Prepares and maintains records of merchandise shipped. Posts weights and shipping charges and prepares goods for final shipment.

Your Impact

Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions):

• Ensures all receiving is completed in 24-48 hours
• Proactively addresses any receiving problems and provide solutions
• Completes PO in Pre Stage report daily
• Keeps non-stock shelves clean
• Ensures repackaging is completed in a timely manner
• Team with the purchasing department to address any concerns regarding POs, products, and/or vendor errors
• Coordinates resolution of any stocking and inventory issues with Inventory Control Manager
• Process POs and stock
• Informs Customer Service of Drop Ship POs shipped to the ATL warehouse
• Monitors and reports any deviation or escalation to team lead or management

Additional Responsibilities:

• File damage claims with LTL carriers

Minimum Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Typically requires a minimum of 2 years of related experience.
