Job summary

Apogee Architectural Metals, a segment of Apogee Enterprises, is hiring a Material Handler I to support inventory control and product movement within a manufacturing setting. You will work with the Materials team to receive, pick, pack, and ship product to customers while following SOPs.

The role requires basic computer skills, ability to read instructions and blueprints, and comfort with lifting and moving materials. Training and cross-functional coverage are expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read and interpret Work Instructions and SOPs.
• Ability to use a computer with basic proficiency (data entry).

Responsibilities

• Manage inventory, including cycle counting and stock rotation.

Job Overview

Material Handler I assists in accurately handling inventory according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). The Materials team works together to receive, pick, pack, and ship product to customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Ability to manage inventory, including cycle counting and stock rotation.
• Understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS) for tracking and reporting inventory.
• Basic problem-solving skills for handling discrepancies in orders or inventory.
• Ability to read and interpret work instructions.
• Perform basic computer functions related to data entry.
• Strong organizational skills for efficient space utilization and inventory management.
• Ability to lift, move, and handle materials safely.
• Must be cross-trained and able to support all Material Handler I roles.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Operation of basic material handling equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, hand trucks).
