Job summary

Abbott in Westford, MA is hiring a Material Handler I to move and manage materials onsite. You will pull stock, scan items, transport with a forklift, and participate in cycle counts while upholding product quality and safety standards.

The role supports QMS/EMS and regulatory compliance and requires attention to detail, teamwork, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Onsite work with potential chemical handling after training.

Qualifications

• Attention to detail with regard to part/batch numbers, documentation, and timely transactions.
• Ability to perform tasks in a quality system environment.
• Familiarity with Good Manufacturing/Documentation Practices.

Responsibilities

• Performs manual and clerical duties in the movement of materials.
• Pulls material from warehouse stock using a pick list and possibly radio-frequency device.
• Uses a bar code scanner to scan items for material airlock picklist.
• Transports materials using a forklift, pallet jack, or truck to the designated location.
• Responsible for the management/maintenance of materials in assigned roles.
• Participate and complete cycle count activities on a weekly basis.
• Performs SAP transactions to identify status of the material.
• Examine packages for damage and verify packing slips/ invoices.
• Lift packages up to 50 lbs.
• Prioritize daily tasks to meet material demands and maintain a neat workplace.
• Maintain a neat and safe work environment.
• Some areas require handling of chemicals with proper training and PPE.
• Support QMS/EMS and regulatory requirements.
