Job summary

TOPPAN Packaging Americas in Waynesville, NC is seeking a Warehouse Forklift Operator / Material Handler I to move, load, unload and stage materials using powered equipment. You will support production, shipping, receiving, and inventory control while ensuring accurate material tracking.

The role requires forklift experience, attention to detail, good attendance, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience as a Material Handler or similar.
• Current forklift certification or extensive forklift experience.
• Experience in manufacturing, warehouse, or distribution environments.
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Effective communication with team members and leadership.
• Ability to read and understand written instructions and work orders.
• Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
• Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
• Proficient with data entry and handheld scanner systems.
• Maintain a strong attendance record.

Responsibilities

• Comply with all safety policies and work standards.
• Support a safe work environment for all employees.
• Inspect material handling equipment daily before use.
• Safely operate forklifts to transport materials and goods.
• Load, unload, stage, and organize materials and pallets.
• Load/unload trucks and live-load shipments.
• Follow written/verbal instructions for material movement and storage.
• Move materials between storage, warehouse, production, and shipping areas.
• Use scanners to track inventory movements.
• Label materials and identify containers and finished goods.
• Verify shipments against bills of lading and orders.
• Operate balers for recyclable corrugated materials.
• Maintain warehouse organization and housekeeping.
• Complete required forms and production documentation.
• Support training for new/material handlers.
• Segregate scrap and dispose of waste properly.
• Assist production departments to meet goals.
• Weigh and track regrind materials in blending room tasks.
• Transport regrind materials and organize weighed materials.
• Monitor silo levels and blending systems.
• Report blending alarms to Process or Maintenance.
• Load additives into silos and hoppers; ensure cleanliness.
• Match shipping paperwork and prepare documents for shipments.
