Job summary

Apogee Architectural Metals is seeking a Material Handler I to assist with accurate inventory handling within a manufacturing setting. You will support receiving, picking, packing, and shipping while following SOPs and safety protocols.

Responsibilities include cycle counting, using a warehouse management system, and ensuring proper stock rotation. The role requires basic reading of blueprints, data entry, and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Operation of basic material handling equipment must be possible.
• Ability to read measuring devices and blueprints.
• Basic computer/data entry skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage inventory, including cycle counting and stock rotation.
• Understand and use warehouse management systems (WMS) for tracking and reporting inventory.
• Resolve discrepancies in orders or inventory.
• Read and interpret work instructions.
• Perform basic data entry on computer.
• Maintain strong organizational skills for space utilization and inventory management.
• Safely lift, move, and handle materials.
• Cross-train and support all Material Handler I roles.

Job Overview

Material Handler I assists in accurately handling inventory according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). The Materials team works together to receive, pick, pack, and ship product to customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Ability to manage inventory, including cycle counting and stock rotation.
• Understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS) for tracking and reporting inventory.
• Basic problem‑solving skills for handling discrepancies in orders or inventory.
• Ability to read and interpret work instructions.
• Perform basic computer functions related to data entry.
• Strong organizational skills for efficient space utilization and inventory management.
• Ability to lift, move, and handle materials safely.
• Must be cross‑trained and able to support all Material Handler I roles.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Operation of basic material handling equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, hand trucks).
• Ability to use and accurately read measuring devices (tape measures).
• Ability to use hand tools (hammer, wrench, level, etc.).
• Ability to follow blueprints.
• Ability to read and interpret Work Instructions and Standard Operating Procedures.
• Ability to use a computer with basic proficiency (data entry).
