Job summary

Apogee Architectural Metals is seeking an Assembly I to operate and maintain stations for assembling fabricated parts according to specifications. You will use hand and power tools, align components, and ensure products meet tolerances and quality standards.

The role requires reading blueprints, following Work Instructions and SOPs, and being cross-trained to support all Assembly I tasks in a manufacturing environment. Overtime and shift work may be involved.

  • Follow blueprints and assembly procedures.
  • Maintain accuracy and pace; support continuous work culture.

Job Overview

Assembly I operates and maintains stations to assemble, align, and adjust fabricated parts, components, or units according to specifications and follows established manufacturing procedures.

Key Responsibilities

Uses hand tools, power tools, and other manufacturing assembly line equipment to assemble units. Tests and calibrates parts and mechanisms to ensure all components meet tolerances, product specifications, and quality standards. May repair or refit parts or units that fail tests or tolerance levels. Attention to detail and ability to perform repetitive tasks consistently. Must be cross‑trained and able to support all Assembly I roles.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to use and accurately read measuring devices (tape measures).
  • Ability to use hand tools (hammer, wrench, level, etc.).
  • Ability to follow blueprints.
  • Ability to read and interpret Work Instructions and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Ability to use a computer with basic proficiency (data entry).

Work Environment

The position is based in a manufacturing facility, which may involve exposure to loud noises, varying temperatures, and dust from production processes. The facility operates on shift schedules with potential for overtime, including weekends, based on production needs. This environment emphasizes team collaboration and adherence to safety regulations to ensure the well‑being of all employees.
