Job summary

Bausch + Lomb is seeking an entry-level Material Handler I in Woodruff, SC to learn and safely perform basic material-handling tasks that support production and warehouse operations. You will receive, move, stage, and issue materials under established procedures and supervision.

Responsibilities include forklift/PIT training, loading/unloading, RF/ERP Lx usage, and adherence to SOPs and GDP requirements. The role offers 1st shift with potential OT and a path to operational qualifications.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Forklift or manufacturing/distribution experience preferred; Cherry Picker a plus.
• In-house forklift / PIT certification and hearing test; ERP Lx training as assigned.
• Strong reading, math, written and verbal communication; detail oriented and a team player.

Responsibilities

• Complete new-hire orientation and assigned Bausch + Lomb training.
• Assist with loading/unloading trucks and staging materials; housekeeping.
• Learn to use RF units, ERP Lx, and related documentation for material movement.

Objectives/Purpose of Job:

Material Handler I is an entry-level warehouse position responsible for learning and safely performing basic material-handling activities that support production and warehouse operations. The position receives, retrieves, moves, stages, and issues materials under established procedures and supervision.

Key Activities/Responsibilities :

• Complete new-hire orientation and assigned Bausch + Lomb training.
• Complete in-house forklift / Powered Industrial Truck certification and required hearing test before independent equipment operation.
• Assist with loading and unloading trucks, staging materials, and routine warehouse housekeeping.
• Learn to use RF units, ERP Lx, and applicable documentation to support accurate material movement and transactions.
• Follow approved SOPs, GDP requirements, safety rules, and instructions from the immediate supervisor or qualified trainer.
• Support production and warehouse activities as assigned while developing operational qualifications.

Qualifications/Training:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• No prior relevant warehouse experience required. Forklift or manufacturing/distribution experience is preferred. Cherry Picker a plus
• Must be able to perform the essential duties of a warehouse material-handling position and safely operate assigned Powered Industrial Equipment after qualification. Specific physical-demand and work-environment language must be confirmed through the approved Human Resources and EHS review process.
• In-house forklift / PIT certification and hearing test; Initial ERP Lx and RF-unit training as assigned; Applicable general Bausch + Lomb SOP training.
• Basic awareness of warehouse safety and material flow. Ability to learn operational procedures, equipment, documentation requirements, and electronic systems through structured hands-on training.
• Strong reading and math comprehension; effective written and verbal communication; attention to detail; problem solving; teamwork; and the ability to use Microsoft Outlook, Excel, ERP Lx, RF units, and applicable web-based systems as required by the role.
• Performs work safely and in accordance with applicable SOPs, training requirements, quality standards, GDP expectations, and regulatory requirements.

Eligibility for Internal Applicants:

Have no corrective actions at the written warning level in last six months / no final warning level in the last 12 months / no active PIP.
Meet the qualifications of the position as stated above.
Be in your current job for 12 months.

Position applying for must be a step up in progression and not a step down.

Schedule: 1st Shift Monday-Friday 6:00am-2:30pm (OT every other weekend)
