Job summary

Shur-Co LLC is seeking a dependable Material Handler to support loading, unloading, and movement of raw materials within the plant. Responsibilities include cutting materials to size, operating metal fabrication machinery under instruction, and securing parts for safe transport.

The role requires basic math, reading comprehension, and safe forklift operation. Candidates must maintain a tidy, organized workspace and follow all safety protocols.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED; or 1–3 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; basic math and measurement.
  • Must be able to pass forklift certification test and drive a forklift.

Responsibilities

  • Load and unload material and pallets on trucks using a forklift.
  • Properly cut materials to size using tape measure.
  • Operate metal fabrication machinery with instruction.
  • Proficient in the use of hand and power tools as needed.
  • Make basic math calculations and measurements.
  • Properly stack and secure parts to pallets or racks and move them safely with a forklift.
  • Simple assembly and/or packaging per instruction.

Job Summary:Responsible for processing raw materials utilizing metal fabrication equipment. Responsibilities also include checking incoming material for accurate delivery, loading and unloading materials onto a laser cutting machine, and general logistics of moving materials around the plant.Material Handler I – Entry LevelResponsibilities:Load and unload material and pallets on trucks using a forkliftProperly cut materials to size using tape measureOperate metal fabrication machinery with instructionProficient in the use of hand and power tools as neededMake basic math calculationsProperly stack and secure parts to pallets or racks and move them safely with a forkliftSimple assembly and/or packaging per instructionMaterial Handler II – Skilled LevelResponsibilities:Load and unload material and pallets on trucks using a forkliftIdentify material type and size per printProperly cut materials to size using tape measureSetup and operate metal fabrication machinery with minimal instructionProficient in the use of hand and power tools as neededSetup and run CNC auto-feed bandsaw unassistedMake basic math calculationsProperly stack and secure parts to pallets or racks and move them safely with a forkliftSimple assembly and/or packaging with minimal instructionMaterial Handler III – Advanced LevelResponsibilities:Must meet all level 1 requirementsMust meet all level 2 requirementsComfortable giving direction and or leading Peers.Shows interest in learning additional skills.Shows good decision-making skills without supervision.Great people skillsMaterial Handler – Lead PositionResponsibilities:Must meet all level 1 requirementsMust meet all level 2 requirementsMust meet all level 3 requirementsExhibits strong potential for advancement into a leadership role within the company.
