Job summary

Neurocrine Biosciences is seeking a Shipping & Receiving Associate to handle the physical and administrative tasks involved in moving materials, unpacking and stocking, and preparing items for final shipment.

You will post weights, shipping charges, and prepare kitting packages for production while maintaining records and ensuring compliance with policies.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma / Associates degree and no related experience required.
  • Computer literate and proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Access.
  • Proficient in standard Shipping and Receiving procedures and practices.
  • Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Develops skills to perform basic activities in own job.
  • Learns company policies and procedures to complete routine tasks.
  • Valid drivers license and ability to drive company vehicles.

Responsibilities

  • Receives and distributes incoming shipments and ships outgoing materials.
  • Receives incoming purchased products and distributes them, recording receipt in PeopleSoft.
  • Classifies and ships materials in compliance with regulations.
  • Maintains shipping/receiving programs with Sarbanes-Oxley/404 compliance.
  • Provides management with shipping/receiving trend data and opportunities.
  • Keeps in-house stock inventory at planned levels.
  • Participates in Operations activities including EH&S and asset management.

About the Role:

Responsible for the physical and administrative tasks involved in the shipping, receiving, storing and distributing of materials, parts, supplies and equipment. Unpacks and checks goods received against purchase orders or invoices, maintains records of received goods and rejects unsatisfactory items as necessary. Lifts heavy items and may operate a forklift. Prepares and maintains records of merchandise shipped. Posts weights and shipping charges and prepares goods for final shipment. Examines, stocks and distributes materials to inventory and end users. May prepare kitting packages for assembly production.

Your Contributions (include, but are not limited to):
  • Receives and distributes incoming shipments and ships outgoing materials consistent with considerations of quality, service, and company policy and procedure
  • Receives incoming purchased products and research materials, distribute the incoming products and materials, and make the corresponding entries in PeopleSoft to document receipt
  • Properly classifies and ships materials, consistent with federal, state, and local requirements
  • Maintains shipping and receiving programs in compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley / 404 requirements
  • Provides management with information with regard to shipping and receiving trends, costs, and new opportunities
  • Maintains in-house stock inventory at planned levels
  • Participates in miscellaneous Operations department activities including, but not limited to: environmental health and safety, asset management, and chemical inventory

The hourly rate we reasonably expect to pay is $20.39-$27.30. Individual pay decisions depend on various factors, such as primary work location, complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills.

In addition, this position offers an annual bonus with a target of 15% of the earned base salary and eligibility to participate in our equity based long term incentive program.
