Qualifications

  • Ability to work in varying conditions (hot, cool, wet, dusty).

Join us as our newest Material Handler I

This position works under general supervision and is primarily responsible for loading, unloading and moving materials and finished products within warehouse and pack orders to ensure timely, accurate delivery of customer requests.

In this role you'll make an impact by:

  • Reading work orders and following oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved.

  • Loading/Unloading materials onto or from pallets, tubs, racks and shelves and into vehicles; inspecting vehicles for proper shipping conditions.

  • Unload materials from vehicles, inspect deliveries and shipments for accuracy and damage and prepare proper documents.

  • Locate stock - count, weigh and record units of material moved, handled, or shipped.

  • Prep materials for shipment by palletizing, banding, wrapping and labeling shipments.

  • Pick and package finished products per work orders.

  • Enter data in SAP, update records and file documents, electronically and manually, prepare/distribute reports, as required.

  • Maintain clean area by sweeping or mopping.

  • Comply with all departmental safety and sanitation requirements.

  • Convey materials to proper storage area.

  • Rotate stock as needed and optimize space utilization.

  • Operate industrial trucks or electric hoists to assist in loading or moving materials and products.

  • Perform PM to lift equipment.

  • Maintain proper temperature for products.

To succeed you must hold:

  • Possess the ability to read, write and speak English.

  • Possess ability to operate industrial trucks or electric hoists to assist in loading or moving materials.

  • Possess basic computer skills to navigate in email and data systems.

  • Have knowledge of GMP, safety, sanitation and Hazardous Materials per DOT requirements.

  • Be able to effectively communicate information and respond to questions from drivers, other production-related departments (i.e. Customer Service) and co-workers in a tactful manner.

  • Ability to use a calculator to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, including conversions to metric weight. (These characteristics are normally acquired through a High School Diploma or GED with at least six months of related material handling experience.)

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.

  • The employee is occasionally required to walk, sit, climb or balance, scoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk to hear, and use foot/feet to operate machines.

  • Must be able to lift and/or move 50lbs and occasionally up to 100lbs. (assisted). This included repetitive bending and lifting of items to stack or dump.

  • Must be able to work under hot or cool, wet and sometimes dusty and loud conditions, dust mask, coveralls and/or hearing protection may be required.
