Position Summary

This position is responsible for monitoring and maintaining production lines for short periods of time, with limited knowledge of troubleshooting and setup of production lines. The employee is able to complete the majority of auxiliary tasks without supervision.

Responsibilities
  • Monitors and adjusts as required to ensure product quality.
  • Monitors pressure readings to establish frequency for screen changes and/or detect product performance problems.
  • Conducts clean‑downs between products that may involve cleaning the screw, cleaning die, cleaning transfer pipes, cleaning water tank, the dryer and shaker.
  • Conducts proper start‑up and shutdown procedures.
  • Conducts visual quality control inspection of product for pellet size, bulk density and pellet weight.
  • Troubleshoots minor mechanical problems and alerts Supervisor or Maintenance, as required.
  • A certified forklift operator; operates forklift for various tasks.
  • Ensures proper ticketing and labeling of boxes.
  • Lifts weights up to 55 lbs.
  • Works well independently as well as with others.
  • Wears all PPE as required by policies.
  • Attends scheduled safety training.
  • Follows all Health & Safety policies and procedures.
  • Maintains a clean work environment and is responsible for ensuring the production area is kept in a respectable manner at all times.
  • Works various hours and overtime, as situations require.

Education and Experience

High School Diploma or GED preferred but not required. No prior experience required, or less than one year of experience. Previous exposure to forklift operation is strongly desired but not required.
