Job summary

Chipton-Ross is seeking a Material Handler I for a contract opportunity in College Park, GA. The role includes receiving, stocking, and preparing shipments for outbound orders, ensuring accuracy and documentation.

Responsibilities include verifying part numbers, packing, labeling, creating BOM docs, and maintaining warehouse safety and inventory controls. Must have HS diploma and be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

  • Must speak, read and write fluent English.
  • Experience with warehouse receiving, stocking and shipping processes.
  • Experience with data entry and warehouse documentation.
  • Knowledge of aviation spare parts distribution is a plus.
  • Familiarity with QA systems in aviation/aerospace environments.

Responsibilities

  • Receives and stocks materials, verifies quantities, part numbers, and substitutions against packing slips and POs.
  • Pulls parts from stock to support sales orders using a pick list.
  • Inspects, packs, labels, weighs materials for shipment, and attaches required paperwork.
  • Maintains inventory accuracy and updates stock transactions for movements and adjustments.

Overview

Chipton-Ross is seeking a Material Handler I for a contract opportunity in College Park, GA.

Responsibilities
  • Accomplishes the receipt and stocking of materials and verifies that the quantity, part numbers, or noted substitutions correspond to the packing slip and Purchase Orders.
  • Pulls parts from stock to support Sales Orders using a pick list.
  • Informs Back Office personnel of unknown cross-referenced, superseded or obsolete part numbers.
  • Ensures that inventory transactions (e.g., stock-line issuing and adjustments) are completed upon every material movement.
  • Inspects, packs, labels and weighs the materials for shipment, attaching appropriate transport vendor and/or customs paperwork.
  • Identifies and eliminates any outdated, unserviceable or degraded material in the stockroom.
  • Understands Electrostatic Discharge handling and shipping procedures.
  • Understands Shelf and Service Life product dates.
  • Understands and complies with applicable domestic and international shipping restrictions.
  • Enforces stockroom safety and security.
  • Verifies product dimension and weight to select shipping method.
  • Prepares freight quotations.
  • Prepares labels and bills of lading.
  • Verifies and communicates shipping confirmation.
  • Tracks and monitors all calls from customers regarding shipping.
  • Assists and supports sales, export and warehouse departments.
  • Maintains and updates warehouse scorecards.
  • Resolves issues arising in shipping or inventory handling.
  • Reports any incidents or unsafe conditions immediately.
  • Ensures all safety controls are in place.
  • Ensures compliance to environmental management and systems.
  • Understands and abides by Hazardous Material Shipping regulations.
  • The Material Specialist - Shipping should NEVER process hazardous materials shipment orders; failure to abide by this will result in immediate termination.
  • Willingness to cross-train in other functional areas as directed.

Physical Requirements
  • The Material Specialist must be able to operate a stand-up forklift.
  • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to stand or sit for the duration of their shift and regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Required Education
  • Accredited High School Diploma or GED.
Work Hours
  • Full-Time — Monday to Friday 07:00 am – 03:30 pm
  • Overtime may be requested on Saturdays
