Job summary

Quality Vision International in Rochester, NY, is hiring a Material Handler I. On-site role with 7:30am–4:00pm schedule. You will manage daily stockroom tasks, cycle counts, and material receipt to support manufacturing and customer orders.

Under supervision, you will issue kits, verify counts in ERP, and ensure proper packaging and storage while adhering to Kanban and 6S practices. Requires attention to detail and reliable follow-through.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Material handling or stockroom experience in a manufacturing setting preferred.
• Prior experience with an ERP system preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.

Responsibilities

• Complete daily cycle counts timely and accurately.
• Pick, label, and issue material (via ERP system) for job orders to support manufacturing, global manufacturing requirements, or customer orders.
• Transact incoming material into stock, verify counts, and ensure proper packaging and put-away location.
• Provide material to customers in a usable form, ensuring proper packaging and delivery to support their operation.
• Understand and apply Kanban principles to scan, fill and deliver Kanban bins.
• Perform location audits for inventory validation as requested.
• Perform daily 6S activities and maintain an organized, compliant workplace.
• Complete all transactions in assigned zone and coordinate with team members as workload demands.
• Communicate issues to Group Leader or supervisor as they occur.
• Work safely and report unsafe conditions, accidents, or material damage.

Compensation: $17.00-$19.00, based on experience

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:30am-4:00pm

Position Overview:

Under the guidance of the Materials Supervisor, the Material Handler I (MH1) performs daily stockroom duties. These duties include safe and proper handling of material and equipment, cycle counting, receipt of incoming material, pick and issue kits to support assembly schedule, or customer requirements as directed by Materials Supervisor or Stock Team Leader.

Role and Responsibilities:

Specific duties include but are not limited to:

• Complete daily cycle counts timely and accurately.
• Pick, label, and issue material (via ERP system) for job orders to support manufacturing, global manufacturing requirements, or customer orders.
• Transact incoming material into stock. Verifying material counts, put away location, and appropriate packaging are essential steps of the incoming process.
• Provide material to customers in a usable form, insuring it is packaged properly and delivered in a form that supports their operation.
• Understand and apply Kanban principles to scan, fill and deliver Kanban bins.
• Perform location audits for inventory validation as requested.
• Perform daily 6S activities- maintain an organized and 6S compliant workplace.
• Complete all transactions in assigned zone. Work with team members in their zones as the workload dictates.
• Communicate any issue to Group Leader and/or supervisor as they occur.
• Work safely – immediately report unsafe conditions, accidents, or material damage.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications: (Experience, Education, Certifications, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities)

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent education is required.
• Material handling or stockroom experience in a manufacturing setting is preferred.
• Prior experience working with an ERP system is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail
• Strong ability to focus on work tasks and follow instructions.

Physical and/or Environmental Requirements:

• Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 40 pounds unassisted.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
• Ability to climb, bend, reach, stoop, kneel, and stretch for extended periods of time.
• Ability to repeatedly lift, carry, push, pull, and handle products.
• Willing and able to work at heights using ladders or lifts to access areas of the stockroom.
